SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is a modified hyaluronic acid injectable gel, the first and only on the market, that is designed to replenish moisture within the skin and to aid in the skin’s pliancy resulting in a smoother, hydrated or “glowing” appearance.

Using a microdroplet injection technique, SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is strategically placed within the skin’s dermis. The effects are lasting hydration along with firmer more smooth skin with an enhanced glow for 6 months.

Within weeks following your injection treatment with SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® you’ll notice the added hydration, brightening effect and suppleness of your skin. These results last up to 6 months with persistent hydration.

For the best possible results, it’s recommended that you seek treatment by a licensed medical physician with experience and expertise with aesthetic injectable treatments, such as BOTOX® and JUVÉDERM®.

SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is a microdroplet injectable treatment personally performed by Dr. Joel Schlessinger. The injection treatments takes only minutes to perform and you can expect no downtime after having this treatment. The results last up to 6 months after a single treatment. To maintain and extend your result it’s recommended that you be treated again after 6 months.

Yes, technically SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is a filler however, it is specifically designed to improve the quality of the skin by smoothing and hydrating, not to change the face by filling or adding volume.

SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® pairs perfectly with other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers such as those for the JUVÉDERM® Collection of fillers, and with neurotoxin treatments such as BOTOX®.

You might hear the term ‘Skin booster’ and that’s a great description for SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM®. Skin boosters replenish moisture in the skin and give a ‘boost’ to your overall skin quality and skin health. Unlike fillers, skin boosters do not add volume or fullness to the face. With a hyaluronic acid rich skin booster treatment not only will you get a boost of hydration you’ll achieve a smoother, brighter, and firmer complexion – giving your skin a glass-y, glowing appearance.

There may be slight redness and numbness for a few hours, or days, following treatment. The treated area(s) may be a bit tender and swollen, but this shouldn’t keep you from your normal daily activities. Temporary bruising can occur in some cases.

Make sure you have discussed all medications you are taking with the doctor before the procedure. Some medication may cause bruising and should be stopped well before the procedure. Be sure to avoid taking ibuprofen (Aleve), aspirin, and herbal supplements for up to 2 weeks prior to your visit if you can.

If you are looking for a treatment to improve your overall skin quality and give yourself a “dewy” or “glowing” appearance, SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is a great option. Individuals with a dry, dull and rough complexion are great candidates for this treatment, though SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® can be used on all skin types.

SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is also an option for patients, ages 21-35, who might not be candidates for dermal fillers but want the glow affect from these treatments.

SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® can be used to enhance or compliments treatments with neurotoxins, dermal fillers, microneedling and other skin tightening or facial rejuvenating treatments.

  1. On the day of your consultation, our patient coordinators will greet you at our office in West Omaha. Our coordinators and nurses assist patients with every step of their aesthetic journey from consult to treatment and are with you every step of the way.
  2. You will have a consultation in our comfortable and high-tech office of the patient coordinator, meeting with Dr. Schlessinger to discuss your aesthetic goals and answer any questions you might have.
  3. Your patient coordinator will take photographs of your areas of concerns, whether they’re specific to fine lines and wrinkles or skin laxity and dark circles, and will review treatment options with you.
  4. These before images are important and will be used to compare with your results 2 weeks later at your complimentary follow-up appointment.
  5. If you are a good candidate and choose to move forward with treatment, you’ll be prepped for the injections. The treatment area will be cleaned and, if needed, a potent topical numbing solution will be applied with your comfort in mind.
  6. Dr. Schlessinger will personally perform the SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® treatment. At Schlessinger MD the only individual who works on you is the doctor.   7. The actual injection process is quick and nearly painless. Dr. Schlessinger uses a expert technique refined over the tens of thousands of procedures he has performed. Microdroplets of SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is injected with an ultra-thin needle very precisely into several areas. Most patients compare the sensation to a little sting.
  8. You can resume normal activities almost immediately.
