With age, our skin inevitably changes. Factors such as sun exposure, genetic predispositions and the natural aging process can lead to a complexion that appears less vibrant and youthful, characterized by wrinkles, dark spots and diminished radiance and elasticity. Furthermore, it is common for patients to face multiple skin issues at once and seek comprehensive solutions that can address all their concerns in the fewest possible appointments while also requiring minimal recovery time.

The ThreeForMe™ laser skin treatment is a new treatment designed to target and improve three prevalent skin issues in a single session: wrinkles, sun damage and visible blood vessels on the face. This innovative treatment harnesses the power of a unique combination of laser technologies that work synergistically to address these concerns immediately and over time. Join our med spa coordinator, Brooke, as she shares her journey and outcomes with the ThreeForMe™ laser treatment at Schlessinger MD. Embarking on her treatment, Brooke shares, “I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the ThreeForMe™ treatment, but I knew I wanted to improve the texture of my skin and get rid of pigmentation that bothered me.”

In this article and firsthand account, we’ll discuss:

  • What is ThreeForMe™ laser treatment for the face?
  • What can you expect after a ThreeForMe™ treatment?
  • How can you schedule your ThreeForMe™ laser treatment?

The ThreeForMe™ laser treatment is a three-step, facial rejuvenating treatment completed in one appointment that utilizes intense pulsed light (IPL) and a non-ablative fractionated laser to improve wrinkles, sun damage and visible facial veins. Dr. Joel Schlessinger, double-board certified dermatologist and Moh’s Surgeon says that because the treatment leverages these two technologies in an all-in-one session, it’s a great new tool for targeting overall skin quality and rejuvenation. Dr. Schlessinger adds, “The ThreeForMe™ treatment is a powerful tool to address pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and overall luminosity of the skin. Brooke B. was a nice candidate as she was looking for an option with very little downtime.”

Step 1: Intense pulsed light (IPL)

Step one in the ThreeForMe™ treatment targets sun damage and facial veins with technology called intense pulsed light (IPL) with the MaxG IPL on the ICON™ platform. Also known as a photofacial, IPL uses broad-spectrum light to target unwanted pigment and visible veins in the skin. The treatment effectively breaks down the pigment, causing it to darken and migrate to the skin’s surface, where it naturally sheds away. For visible veins, the applied heat coagulates the blood within the vessels, ceasing circulation. This process leads to the immediate collapse of the veins, which are then naturally absorbed and eliminated by the body. Beyond sun damage and facial veins, IPL treatments can also effectively treat birthmarks, acne scarring, red lesions and rough, uneven skin as seen in Schlessinger MD intense pulse light (IPL) before and after photos.”

Steps 2 and 3: Non-ablative fractionated lasers

The next two steps in the ThreeForMe™ treatment target fine lines, wrinkles and other skin imperfections with non-ablative fractionated lasers with the ICON™ 1540nm laser. This treatment uses hyper focused light to create microscopic wounds in the skin to stimulate healing, cell turnover and collagen and elastin production.

ThreeForMe™ treatments do not require anesthesia. However, to ensure minimal discomfort, a topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment. Additionally, cool air is utilized throughout the procedure to further enhance patient comfort. The treatment duration is typically a little more than an hour, and because it minimally impacts the skin’s surface, there is little to no downtime. This means you can resume normal activities immediately after treatment. You should take extra care to protect your skin from the sun post treatment. It’s important to apply adequate sunscreen and wear a hat to shield your face to protect your results and prevent new damage from occurring.

After your ThreeForMe™ treatment, you may feel some minor redness and swelling, like a sunburn. To enhance comfort post treatment, our team will place a cooling sheet mask on your skin and you will receive a post-procedure skin care set to care for your skin at home. Immediately post treatment, you’ll notice that your facial veins are diminished, and dark spots may appear darker as they rise to skin’s surface and prepare to slough away.

3 weeks post one ThreeForMe™ session by Joel Schlessinger, MD

After her treatment, Brooke recognized changes in her skin right away, noting, “I really was surprised at the immediate results. After a few days and some peeling, I noticed how much better my skin looked. Red areas are not as noticeable, my dark pigmentation spots are fading, some of my fine lines are smoothing out and my skin appears luminous!”

Over the next six months, your skin will continue to progress as it heals, improving fine lines, pigmentation, texture and skin quality. Depending on your goals and the severity of your skin concerns, you may necessitate multiple treatments to achieve your desired outcome.

A few weeks post treatment, Brooke notes that ThreeForMe™ has made her feel more confident in her skin. “I think it is every woman’s desire to look good without makeup. I truly feel more assured going makeup free, and it has only been a few weeks! I’m excited to see my results in six months. I would highly recommend ThreeForMe™ to everyone,” she says.

If you’re considering the ThreeForMe™ treatment, our team recommends scheduling your appointment during winter months to minimize potential sun exposure post-treatment. If you’re not confident you are a candidate for ThreeForMe™, you can book a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Schlessinger or one of our PA’s online. During this consultation, our team will discuss your concerns, answer any questions you may have and develop a treatment plan.
